Phones

You have a choice of phones – on-screen (soft phones), wired phones, or cordless solutions. You can also use the soft phone in conjunction with a “hardware” phone – so all options are covered.

The Soft Phone

The on-screen phone is very easy to use, the feel of it is very similar to other Window based programmes. Rather than trying to remember a colleague’s extension, or which button to press to transfer a call, or how to bring someone in on a conference call, you can simply drag and drop with your mouse.

The soft phone comes supplied in a variety of designs, or “skins”. Each user can choose the skin that suits him or her best, from a narrow bar with no shortcuts, to a large operator console with over 150 speed dials.

We can also design a skin specifically for you, incorporating your company logo

Dialling a phone number by highlighting it on the screen (in any application, or from a website) means that you hardly ever have to dial a number on the keypad.

As well as being convenient, it also cuts down on the number of incorrect numbers called.

Swyx can be integrated with most databases and CRM packages, making it possible to simply click on an icon to make a call.

Swyx is fully integrated with Microsoft Outlook. The record of any contact that is in your Outlook Contact folder can be set to pop up on the screen on incoming calls.

Swyx can also be set to work with most other contact databases and CRM packages.

You can instantly see who is logged on or busy, and even put photographs against each user.

Making, answering and transferring calls couldn’t be simpler. With a couple of clicks of the mouse you will have answered a call, put someone on hold, and transferred them to the appropriate person on your system. Or just “drag and drop”.

handset
A stand-alone handset has to be SIP compatible to be used with Swyx. Swyx have their own branded handsets, which are well designed, excellent quality – and they look good.
There are different models to choose from, depending on how much functionality is required.
A number of compatible SIP phones are available on the market, including WiFi and dect options.
Your choice depends on functionality, design, and budget.
A handset can be used in conjunction with the softphone, using CTI.
headset
Using a headset with the softphone is beneficial in more ways than one – it cuts down on desk clutter, leaves both hands free for typing, and is much better for the posture.
Any USB headset can be used, giving you a wide choice – including WiFi and dect devices.
